First Environment’s own Devin DeMarco, CHMM, CPEA, Director of Federal Programs, has taken the helm of the Society of American Military Engineers’ (SAME’s) New Jersey Post as its 2017 president. An SAME member for more than five years, Devin has maintained an active role in the organization, serving as Vice President in 2016 and previously as the Young Member Committee Chairperson. In 2016, he organized and moderated the Post’s technical wastewater resiliency and project financing program held at Montclair State University’s Passaic River Institute. In 2015, he organized the young member program at Battleship New Jersey Museum and Memorial.

Going forward, Devin will lead a new board of directors to build upon success achieved in 2016 – including the rebranded and well-received North Atlantic Industry Day held in October – by offering topical technical programs; industry networking opportunities; and special events for young members, small businesses, and scholarship fundraising.

“The New Jersey Post will continue to serve its diverse stakeholder base, providing a blend of well-planned networking and technical sessions in accordance with SAME’s national strategy,” Devin said at the Post’s first board meeting of 2017. “This year we’ll also focus on resurrecting one the Post’s signature events, the New York Harbor inspection tour.” Read more about the Post’s goals for 2017 in the President’s Message.
